God descends the Sky of the World When A Third Night
Ibn Baththol said, "This time is a glorious time and there is an impulse to do charity at that time. Allah Ta'ala specializes in that time with His nuzul (descent of Allah). Allah also gave privileges at that time with the prayer offered and given every request. "(Syarh Al Bukhari, 11/198).

Night time is calculated from the sinking of the sun (Maghrib time) until the dawn of Shubuh rises. If the Maghrib time is around 6:00 p.m. and Shubuh time is 4:00 p.m., it means that there are about 10 hours at night. Midnight means 11pm. Whereas the last third of the night starts at around 1am.
