Muslim Prophet Isa
Prophet Isa alaihis salam including the ranks of the Prophet who had extraordinary miracles. With Allah's permission, he can heal the sick, and even turn on the dead. Prophet Isa was included in the Prophet ‘Ulul‘ Azmi.
There are several beliefs about the Prophet Isa ‘alaihis salam that every Muslim needs to know.
Allah SWT said:
"And because of their words:" We have killed the Messiah, Isa the son of Mary, Allah's Apostle ", even though they did not kill him and did not (also) crucify him, but (they killed) people who were like Jesus to them. Lo! Those who disagree about (the killing of) Jesus, in doubt about the murdered. They did not have confidence about who was killed, except following mere assumptions, they did not (also) believe that what they killed was Isa. But (actually), God raised Jesus to Him. And Allah is Mighty, Wise. None of the People of the Book, except will believe in him (Isa) before his death. And on the Day of Judgment Jesus will be a witness against them. "(Surat an-Nisa: 157-159)
In the above verse God tells us that the Prophet ‘Isa was not killed by the Jews. Jews claimed to have killed him and this was justified by Christians. But what is actually killed is the person who is likened to him. While Jesus himself was appointed by God to heaven.
The Prophet ‘Isa was not dead as this was confirmed again by the verses and hadith that tell us that he would descend at the end of time. In summary, Isa bin Maryam is not dead yet. But he was lifted up to heaven and will come down at the end of time as a sign of the coming of the doomsday (great apocalypse).
Who actually met death and was likened to Prophet Isa?
What is actually likened to Prophet Isa is his student who is still young and loyal to him. The proof of this is a story brought by Ibn 'Abbas radhiyallahu' anhuma, narrated by Ibn Abi Hatim (4/1110), An-Nasa'i in his commentary (611), and Ath-Thobari (34066), this historical court hasan.
Ibn ‘Abbas radhiyallahu‘ anhuma recounts, "When Allah wanted to lift Isa-‘alaihis salam– to heaven, he went out to his companions and at that time there were 12 friends of Al-Hawariyyun. He went out to them and his head continued to drip water.
Then Jesus said, "Indeed, among you there are those who curse me 12 times after he believed in me." Then Jesus said again, "Some of you will be likened to me. He will be killed because of my position. He will also become my close friend. "
Then among his friends who were still young, Jesus then said, "Sit down." Then Jesus returned to them, the young man stood up again. Isa also said, "Sit down." Then Jesus came again the third time and the young man was still standing and he said, "I, O Isa."
"Do you really want to be likened to me?" Said Prophet Isa. Then the young man was likened to Prophet Jesus.
Isa was lifted through the wall in the house to the sky. Then came the group of Jews. Then they brought the young man who was likened to the Prophet Jesus earlier. They killed him and crucified him. Some of them also blessed 12 times after they had previously believed in him. They were divided into three groups.
The first group said, "Allah is in the midst of us according to His will then He rises to heaven." These are Ya'qubiyah.
The second group said, "In the midst of us there is a child of God according to His will and then he rises to heaven." These are Nasthuriyah.
The third group said, "In the midst of us there are servants of Allah and His Messenger according to His will then he rises to the sky." They are the Muslims.
The first and second groups who are infidels will defeat the third group of Muslims. The Muslim group disappeared, until Allah sent Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam."
In the Qur'an, Allah says:
"No one from the People of the Book, except will believe in him (Isa) before his death. And on the Day of Judgment Jesus will be a witness against them. "(Surat an-Nisa: 159)
Qatadah said the purpose of this verse was before Jesus' death and if he came to earth, all religions would believe in him.
Ibn Zaid said that when Jesus bin Maryam came down again to earth, he would kill the Antichrist. Then there will be no more Jews unless he will believe in him.
So, actually the Prophet Jesus peace be upon him has not died. Allah saved him from the evil people who wanted to kill him.
